Week 10 - 14

Day 80 - Feeling a little star struck

While waiting for a flight at Brisbane airport I had a guy come up to me and recognised me from facebook and was so excited to come and have a chat. I have my big 6 pack food bag with me and he kept asking questions about my meals, training and sups. It was a really nice feel to have a chat to a total stranger and give them tips and tricks :) We exchanged business cards and I hope to keep in contact with him

Day 84 -                                         Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail

I'm lucky that the people are live with are into fitness just as much as me. My room mate buys those pre made meals and spends about $250 for only 5 days worth of meals and it smells a little average every time he heats them up in the microwave lol

I make all my meals myself and it so much easier and WAY CHEAPER!!

The easiest way to prepare your meals is to get all your containers open on the bench and Bulk cook all your chicken, rice, veggies, steak and what every else is on your diet then weigh it up and put it in containers. I use post it notes and number what meal it is and stick them onto of my containers.

Day 85 -                                         Eating while you are out and about with friends

I love nothing more then eating out at cafes with friends or Sunday morning breakfast and reading the paper. I can't eat out at cafes anymore but I don't want to sit at home and be miserable about it so I bring my meals with me and while my friends eat cafe food I eat my own meals and still get to enjoy having a coffee from the cafe :)

You can always turn a negative into a positive

Day 89 - The worlds best hamstring exercises

While travelling around Australia I found a gym called your health and met this amazing trainer called Priscilla.. I let her know that I find it hard to hit my hamstring and that my quads take all the strength which is really frustration. Priscilla showed me a few different exercises to hit my hamstrings and my goodness I'm still sore :) Below is what she has recommended

- Curtsy with a bar across your shoulders 15 reps - 3 sets

"Hold a 5 - 10kg bar across your shoulders and while holding the bar do a curtsy and remember to kick of your heels" This will hit right under your bum to that trouble spot most girls have

- Kick backs 15 reps  - light weight - 10 reps heavier weigh - 5 reps almost max weight - 3 sets

"Add a ankle strap to your ankle on the cable machine and lean right over so your back is vertical then pretend your have someone behind your and kick back from your heels and squeeze your glute when your leg is parallel to your body

- Walking pony kicks  - 15 - 20reps - 3 sets
"Grab a 10kg bar across your shoulders pretend you're marching, straight leg point your toe then place your leg straight in front and squeeze your glute

- Holding the rings twist - 10 reps on each side 3 sets
"Hold onto ring and have your body into a table top. Let go of one hand and touch the ground then reach up as high as you can to the opposite side.

- The awesome 4 some on cables 15 reps 3 sets
1. Strap a cable to your ankle and kick your leg away from your body
2. kick your leg straight in front
3. kick backs
4. Grab a bench and the foot without the cable place on the bench then lift yourself up so your opposite leg has the cable and has to work to bring it up into a bent knee tuck

Day 91 - Progression photo of gym & normal life

I hear some people say that lifting weights make you masculine and you will get big ect. I wanted you to see the difference and decide for yourself :)

This is what I look like when I train                           This is me on my days off

Don't be afraid to pick up weights, I use light and heavy weights all the time and I'm not huge lol

Day 99 - Lonely roller coaster

I'm not going to lie you will definitely have your good and bad days while your are in comp prep. Your body and mind is constantly changing which can stir your emotions and bring up things you didn't think were a problem. I used to date someone who was heavily into fitness and on my tough days I sometimes think it would been really nice to have some company and support from someone who knows what I'm going through or to even have my dad around who unfortunately really sick and has been most of my life.

When you're having a sad day or moment don't block it out acknowledge it and try and think of something you can do to make yourself feel better :)

I'm lucky enough to have an amazing best friend that is there for me and knows exactly what to do. I have also decided to go for a beach run to clear my head and be near the water. If you're in the same position as me and you don't have a big support crew around you don't let it upset you, you should be so proud of yourself, it's not easy but you're pushing through and it will pay off in the end

6 weeks left - Day 102                    Stomach problems :(

When I started dieting I noticed a lot of changes that my body was going through,  I was detoxing big time!! I noticed things like my energy levels going through the roof which was awesome, my pigmentation clearing up under my eye, losing weight form stubborn areas and i was going to the bathroom more often.

One thing that keeps getting worse and worse was the number of times I was going to the bathroom. The second I'd wake up plus every time i'd eat something I would be racing to the bathroom. At first I was cheering thinking hell yeh my metabolism must be going through the roof Haha little did I know I actually have IBS which is short for irritable bowl syndrome.
Mine is triggered by food intolerances I can't have any sugars, artificial sweeteners, Gluten, wheat or anything processed.

I'm going to try my best to get on top of it so my life and be a little easier, it isn't fun constantly running to the bathroom

Day 104 - Progression photo before I trained

You can see by this photo I really do practice what I preach and I also stick to my diet. I have had some slip up along the way, I'm human and we all make mistakes but I won't let that get in the way of my end goal :)

Your body will love you for eating clean wholesome foods instead of packet or processed fast foods that have no nutrition content and your body doesn't know how to break down fake food.

Stay on track and you will be rewarded for your efforts

Day 106 -                                                                 Listen to your body!!

I have been putting in some awesome training sessions and my body is really sore.. I attempted to train glutes and abs but I honestly just wasted my time haha when you mentally can't be bothered and not even pre work out can help you the best thing to do is to go home and relax :)

I have to meet with my coach tomorrow so I'm stressing a little I always get nervous doing my skins but we will see lol

Will keep you all posted on how I went ;)

Day 107 - 5 weeks left                      Catch up with my coach, skin fold dramas!!

I have been training and sticking to my diet. My body has been changing and I have noticed myself looking leaner. I was booked in to see my coach at 7pm and decided to go for a long beach run at 3.30pm which caused swelling and fluid in my legs. All my skin sights came down except my calves so instead of a big body drop it was only by .1% because of my calves holding water. We have now made a plan to do my skins first thing in the morning so it is more accurate. Always trust your vision, skin folds and how you feel don't just take the skin fold test as gospel because a lot of different factors can cause you to have higher readings and training before you get your fat pinched will cause a different reading same with having that time of the month and even being sick.

Day 109 -                                        Choose function over fashion!!

Ok my hands in the air I'm the first to admit I love buying nice looking gym clothes it makes me feel good and girly when I train.

As much as gym clothes and shoes look pretty they have 0 support and aren't designed to support joins and muscles while doing high impact training which may lead to injuries such as shin splints, tendonitis, joint inflammation and in some really extreme cases broken bones

So head to your local sport store and get fitted correctly with the right pair of shoes and clothes

Day 112 -                                           Holiday Booked
I'm really nervous I'm heading to Thailand for a week and I'm so scared I'm going to put on weight and wreck my prep : / A friend of mine is getting surgery so I have to go over there to help them with their recovery. What my plan of attack is to find a gym straight away and book in PT sessions twice a day with their trainers and have them make my meals for me so I won't have to eat out. Far out this couldn't have come at a worse time :( it's making me a little anxious but I will find my feet and figure it out.

Day 113 -                                      Slipping into old habits

This is real and honest I can feel my mind starting to think a little bit silly. I have been in Sydney with my family and I have relax a little on my diet and I have been finding it hard to stay on track, it's like I honestly can't be bothered and I'm starting to lose the motivation. I have had a couple of cheat meals like chocolate and ice cream and have felt so guilty that straight after I will go for a 4km run to burn it off. If I eat anything that's not on my diet know matter how small I punish myself with a 4km run. I don't know I can feel my mind start to take over and it's not in a healthily and productive way. I hope I can pull it up before I start to go backwards.

It isn't healthy to feel like you need to punish yourself with 4k runs after having some chocolate. If you do feel like you are falling into a unhealthy trap tell your coach, personal trainer, friend or family member to help you see things clearly.

Day 115                                               Thailand freak out :(

I have been in Thailand for 3 days now and WOW! My head is spinning and my emotions are all over the place. I started dieting 6 weeks before everyone else because I wanted to push myself and make all my mistakes early. I'm thinking now was it a mistake to go to hard to soon? In Australian I had my body looking really good and I was strict with my diet and training, Im now in Thailand and my routine has been thrown out the window and it's sending me crazy. All the food here is carbs, sugar and all the sauces when I'm used to eating plain chicken and plain everything. I'm feeling so guilty and its upsetting me seeing my body start to put on weight.

Later that day reality check
As I sit here and get upset about putting on weight and thinking I have wrecked all my hard work a part of me feels really silly..  I still have plenty of time to whip into shape everyone else is only 3 weeks into their diet when I'm double that.

I really need to take a look at myself and my morals and goals.. I'm in Thailand where the country is so poor, I have been feeding stray dogs that haven't had a meal in weeks and I'm sitting here worrying about putting on weight when I'm sure any person living in Thailand would love to take my place... It's moments like these I get upset at myself because it's so superficial and that's not me and that's not how I want to live. There is more to life then being fit and skinny and I think I need to ground myself and get back in touch with my spiritual side

Day 116                                               Annoying Facebook fakers!!

I made the choice to compete on stage because I wanted to show everyone exactly what is involved from start to finish and to share as much information as I possibly could so I could hopefully help you and answer some questions you might have had. The last couple of days my Facebook have been flooded with #14 weeks #watchthisspace #fitspo from people that are competing and I see them around drinking, smoking ect... Nothing makes me more angry then reading attention seeking Facebook statuses so they can get "LIKES"

I live and breath fitness and some people compete purely to get attention and feed their ego which makes them not honest or genuine and will go back to smoking cigarettes and parting the second the competition is over. I believe you should practice what you preach.
